So lets start with getting rid of the engine and see what we have at hand. The engine is a capacitor starter that uses the position of the shunt and capacitor to change the direction. This requires the change of two poles that could be done via a lathing switch. It's easy to convert the engine into a two way operating engine so I will apply this.
